 Briefly summarize the story of the tortoise. What is the purpose of this folktale about the tortoise? Why do you thing it is inserted at this specific point?

The story of the tortoise is a story about a tortoise who made up a custom to change the names. He changed his name to All of you when he was with a bunch of birds. The birds had never heard of a custom to do that but they went along with it. He was then invited to a feast with birds and when they asked who it was for it was for All of you. The tortoise got most of the food from there because that is what he changed his name to. When the birds were flying back the tortoise asked them to deliver a message to his wife asking her to put out all of the soft things, but instead she put out all of the hard things, and the tortoise's shell cracked on them. The purpose of the story is it is foreshadowing the fall of Okonkwo.
