   Was Okonkwo justified in killing Ikemefuna?      
     
       I do not think that Okonkwo was justified in killing Ikemefuna. The book says, "He was afraid of being thought weak." Ikemefuna had done nothing wrong, if anything he helped Okonkwo, and Okonkwo loved him. The only reason Okonkwo had to kill him was because he did not want to be known as being weak, but that is not a reason to hurt someone who was loved. The elders decided that they wanted to kill Ikemefuna, but I do not think that Okonkwo should have killed Ikemefuna.
